This is why design is so powerful…Nazi’s used and subverted positive imagery to accomplish their evil.
You have to have a larger non-pearl clutching audience to stop a symbol from being changed.

@pedrobjorn @round @ghongsdusit @magicleap @ADL The hoax was 100% correlating something innocuous w/ white supremacy. The problem is that those groups adopted the hoax as true and rapidly changed the meaning. I imagine it’s not unlike the letter Q and qanon.

@pedrobjorn @round @ghongsdusit That hand symbol is super interesting. @magicleap uses it as one of the few defined gestures it recognizes and I suggested we shouldn’t use it. We looked it up on @ADL back in March and it basically said “Hoax” (we used it) and now is like “possibly”
