A few paragraphs in, this article describes the rise in “programming” in front-end dev as a concerted effort to exclude women from the growing prestige of that field.

@drtoddharper That’s an excellent question. I take the light rail to and from work. But having a job where I work late, I wanted to try a scooter to see what it was like to ride from the light rail stop to my house. So, in the spirit of adventure, I brought one to the station. The long way.
